University of León

The University of León (ULE) is a Spanish public university with recognized expertise in ecological economics, environmental impact assessment, and the social dimensions of agroecology. ULE brings a strong focus on gender perspective, business models, and the Water-Energy-Food-Environment (WEFE) nexus. Its interdisciplinary approach supports the development of sustainable agroforestry systems adapted to local socio-economic contexts.

Role in the Project
ULE leads WP4 and brings expertise in socio-economic analysis and gender perspective:

WP4 – Economic and Climate Change Mitigation Potential: ULE coordinates the evaluation of economic viability, environmental impact, and WEFE nexus indicators. ULE also contributes to:
WP2, by co-leading gender integration activities.
WP5, by ensuring gender-sensitive learning materials and outreach.
WP1, by supporting the analysis of adoption barriers.
