AGROFORESTEAM presented at European agroforestry event in Rome

On July 18, 2025, the AGROFORESTEAM project was introduced during the final event of the European project SENSE, held at Città dell’Altra Economia in Rome. The meeting gathered researchers, farmers, policymakers, and citizens to discuss the role of agroforestry and silvopastoral systems in driving the agroecological transition. Organized within the framework of the SENSE project, the event explored how agroforestry and silvopastoral systems can serve as practical and replicable models for sustainable and resilient agriculture. Key topics included public policies, management of mixed systems, participatory innovation, and real-world experiences. During the session, Corrado Ciaccia (CREA-AA) presented the PRIMA-funded project AGROFORESTEAM with the talk “Living Lab and agroforestry: knowledge exchange as a tool to generate innovation”. The presentation highlighted how AGROFORESTEAM aims to foster the adoption of agroforestry systems adapted to territorial contexts through multi-actor platforms and transdisciplinary strategies. The event featured technical presentations, case studies, and a roundtable discussion on opportunities and challenges for strengthening agroforestry value chains. Speakers included experts from CREA, Università di Pisa, AIDA, and representatives from farming enterprises.
